Evil’s City – 2005
College students find a town inhabited by demons. (Well, at least it wasn’t aliens or possessed hillbillies). Still, not very original. Not too bad, except the ending is absolutely terrible. I mean, it made me cuss and throw something at the wall beside the TV (can’t throw at the TV, it’s too expensive).
No extras whatsoever. Good thing I only rented this.

The Sadistic Baron Von Klaus – 1962
How can you not love a movie with Howard Vernon directed by Jesse Franco? This was in French, but obviously not shot in French, as the lip sync is terrible. As in, worst than many Chinese movies. Subtitles are “hardcoded”, so if you speak French, you’ll still have to see them.
Slow, moody, perhaps the best Franco movie I’ve seen yet.
Only extra is a group of alternate footage that didn’t look different to me at all.

The Butchers – 1970
This was without a doubt the worst Troma release ever. For one thing, it’s not even a horror movie. Why would Troma put out this movie? It’s a drama set in a small town, where some butcher is disposing of bodies for the mob. But that’s not central theme of the movie, which is a deaf girl and her dad. Don’t waste a rental here.

X-Men 3: Last Stand – 2006
Great action movie, but it sure seems that it is doing damage to the Marvel universe. Now granted, I’m not that big a comic book geek, but it seems to me that Cyclops and Jean Gray live in the comic books, so with them gone, not sure how that’ll work. I guess you just have to say that the universes are now on divergent paths. Still, it was a pretty good flick. Some of the affects were spectacular.
There are two commentaries. The first is writer and director Brett Ratner, Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg. It was partially technical, but too much “humor” where they talk about it being real. <sigh> Why do these people think that’s funny?
Second commentary is with the producers. I didn’t listen to it. I needed to go to sleep.

SWV Country Cuties Double Feature
Pig Keeper’s Daughter – 1972
Wow! This movie even has POV shots just like in porn. This was sexploitation at its finest. Only thing that would have made it better would be Rene Bond. Tons of big, natural boobage. Makes up for the rest of the week, where there were NONE.
Not too many scenes with the title character, though.
Sassy Sue – 1972
Okay, here’s the big spoiler. Stop reading now if you don’t want the surprise ending revealed. He’s in love with a cow! Sassy Sue is a cow.
Which is pretty sick, considering all the hot poontang (including Sharon Kelly, from the Dirty Mind of Young Sally). And those are some big nips on Tallie Cockran – they cast shadows!!
This disc also includes a short called The Old Man’s Bride from 1967, which was hysterical.

Bite Me! – 2004
Here’s a switch. It’s a monster movie from Shock-O-Rama. And featuring Misty Mundae – Erin Brown! And with a big budget. The Claymation of the giant mutant spiders is pretty obvious, but still, this is a pretty ambitious movie from the folks who normally do softcore lesbian movies.
A ton of extras. Two commentaries, a making of/behind the scenes, an interview with Misty, Camera tests, and a short documentary on How to Crash a Car in Two Hours.
This was a surprisingly good flick from a company I have come to have pretty low expectations from. Congratulations!

Black Magic – 1975
Shaw Brothers goodness. I have had this movie on my wishlist since basically forever. Evil sorcerer kills and makes others fall in love. And how about those ingredients! Breast milk straight from the tap. THAT’s something you don’t see everyday.
The finale between sorcerers was surprisingly good. I love these Chinese movies. They are just SO out there.
