Teknolust – 2002

I put this on my list when I first subscribed to Netflix back in 2003. It’s finally made it to the top of my queue, and now I’ve seen it. And I have to say…

What a rip off!

There’s precious little lust, and even less Tek.

Okay, now that I have that out of my system, I have to say that I enjoyed this movie more than others might. It’s different, in a David Lynchian sort of way. Mildly interesting, but kinda dull overall. I kept watching, thinking that something interesting would happen. Alas, in the end, nothing exciting happens. This flick has a woman writer, director/producer.

Only extra is a commentary which is pretty dry. Another example of why you should never allow only one person to do a commentary. Here, since she’s the only one, she basically just described what’s happening on the screen. Not enough other stuff. I was left with a single impression.

“Self-important woman director”

Two beers out of five. Watch only if you love clone movies, and are a completist.
