Horror Hosts Double Feature
Note that these movies are NOT commercial DVDs, but downloads off the Internet
Uncle Davver Really Scary Movie Show Pilot
Someone sent me a DVD of this, and for the life of me I can’t remember who or why. I’m sure its one of the Yahoo Movie groups I belong to, but I have no idea which. Whichever and whoever it was, this is greatness. Imagine the lovechild of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and your local horror host (Sammy Terry for me, having grown up in the 60’s and 70’s in
And the flick is the classic “Horror Express” with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. And Telly Savalas. It’s a great flick, but it is perfect to make fun of. And do they have a ball. Fart noises, repeating stupid lines, repeating of gags, shouting advice, answering questions. Intercuts with women wearing scanty cloths holding signs. Skits with folks in silly costumes. Its all here, and its all good.
I wish I could see this every week. Hell, I’d watch Sci-Fi channel to see this.

Gore De Vol’s Creature Feature, The Most Dangerous Game
Gore is a Horror Host who has made the transition to the digital age. He posts a weekly movie with his intercuts, which you can download. I have subscribed to it using a program called Juice, which lets me download Podcasts, so I pull down the MP4 each week, and then burn it to DVD to watch later. I have a about 8 of them now, and will be using them to fill the empty hour here and there (since they’re only an hour long). You can start by going to www.countgore.com. You’ll thank me.
This week, I have a movie called “The Most Dangerous Game”. MST3K did a later version of this movie called Blood Lust. Gore says this was made by the same crew at the same time as the original King Kong, while waiting for the special effects to come in. IMDB backs up this story, which makes it even more interesting.
But the movie is only a secondary reason to watch this. The primary reason is to recapture the joys of a horror host for a bad horror movie. I really miss this sort of show, and it’s a pity that our young people will never know the joys of watching a old, bad movie, with a hokey vampire making comments every 18 minutes or so.
