Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy, con't
Zombie Bloodbath 3 - 2000

More of the same but with a unique "origin" story. Lots more clever story, but still tons of gore. This was a great addition to my zombie collection.

Other extras include a behind the scenes of ZB3, which is just a lot of comments from cast & crew. The only other extra is a short film - Dead Things. Hillbilly Holocaust! hehehe

For the money, this was great, if you love any of the following: SOV cheapies, zombies, gore.

Savage Harvest 2 - 2006
Disc 1 - The Movie

The original Savage Harvest was one of the first Wicked Pixel movies I bought. It was a great independent cheapie that was made back in 1995. This one? Not so much. Man, is it slow and talky. Not your usual gorefest or hardcore horror rocker.

And because I was so disappointed in the movie, I did something I almost never do. I skipped all 3 commentaries. If you wanted my opinion on them, sorry. This movie is FAR too long and boring to sit thru 3 more times (6 hours!).

Disc 2 - The Extras

Making of documentary. Talk, talk, talk. And precious little "here's how we did it". Lots of camera malfunctions. You get what you pay for. And Jason Christ (director) was in a bad car accident, which pushed production back 5 months. Second half better than the first half, more behind the scenes footage, more "how to".

Towards the end, they talk about the importance of character development, and I agree, but still, they need to remove about 15 minutes from first 75 minutes of this movie.

Other extras - Deleted scenes - all okay to be gone (more needed, actually). I found an Easter egg on the deleted scenes page (no spoilers, but it was a great). Outtakes, which may be the best part of the whole DVDs. Medical video, the full version of the video viewed in the movie of the burnt chick. And some shorts, including:

The Quiet Place - 2001
"the terrible effects of drug addition". With weird photography to create the effects of a drug-addled mind. Based on the poem? WTF? Commentary by Jason Christ explains that this entire thing was done with 35mm stills. Which, of course, explains the weird movements. WOW, his explanation of the movie sure is different from what I got out of it. Guess I'm an idiot.

Blurred - 1998
Another dare suicide short. Voice mail from yourself?

Vision - 1996
Well, that was short and simple. You did that in a day, right?

Jack of All Trades - 2000

Another excellent Bruce Campbell TV show. Shot entirely in New Zealand? With Sam Rami as the Executive Producer. And it's even more tongue in cheek than Brisco County Jr.

Some really funny elements. A talking carrier parrot. Napoleon is a midget. Lots more sexual innuendo. What it reminded me of was a French Hogan's Heros. Fun, fun, fun. I thoroughly enjoyed them.

Memory - 2006

What a cast! Billy Zane, Dennis Hopper, and Ann-Margret. An interesting movie about a guy who, after accidentally being infected with a chemical from Amazon tribesman, starts experiencing memories of his parents. Nice surprise at the end.

Commentary features director Bennett Davlin, writer Anthony Badalucco, and associate producer Jeannette Weinstein. Not too bad, lots of explanations of why shots were done the way they were.

Other extras include the Making of Memory - we see the three in the commentary and hear the story of how it was written, made, & sold. There's a feature called a Storyboard Animatic, which is basically an virtual storyboard. The entire movie (the original version) is here. Impressive. Not sure that it's necessary, but interesting.

MOH: Tom Holland - We All Scream For Ice Cream - 2007

Fair, sort of a frozen treat Halloween. One really great special effect that you'll know when you see it. [Spoiler free].

Commentary features director Tom Holland, and writer David J. Schow. Standard 10 day shoot. Fairly technical, too much talk about the sweetness of the Masters of Horror.

Other extras include Sweet Revenge: making of. Pretty good. And Melt Down: The scoop on fx.
Not the best from second season, but not the worst. William Forsythe does a really good job.
