Mustang Sally's Horror House - 2006
Six college kids go to what they think is a whore house, but it's really a horror house. Get it? Yep, that's the whole point of this stupid thing. And here's a shock, I hate every single person in this movie. And the only way to get it to last past the 70 minutes mark is to just replay the same scenes over and over again. Painful and dull.
No extras on the disc, and not enough nudity to save it. Skip this puppy, unless you can't sleep.
Dynamite Warrior - 2006
And then we have the complete polar opposite. Thai boxing and black magic. This is amazing, and fun, fun, fun. Action packed and impossible, with wonderful visual, and some really funny moments. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
Other extras include an interesting Making Of, and a Behind the Scenes that shows how stunts were done. This feature was WAY too short, 'cause it's cool to see how these guys do this stuff. There is also some On-Set Footage that was mostly seen in the Making Of, and a Special Effects Makeup feature that was too short as well.
This is the renter of the day, when looking for the good time.

Vacancy - 2007
Well, it only took 10 minutes before I hated the two lead characters. Why can't they make movies where I like the people in the movie? Is it that hard? I am SO SICK of rudeass, self-centered assholes as the folks I'm supposed to root for. It doesn't work. I just hope that terrible things happen to them.
And there is basically nothing new here. A roadside motel is set up so sick hillbillys can record their murders of the occasional guests. Gee, how original. At least there are subtitles.
IMDB says that this thing had a budget of 19 million dollars. At 30 minutes in, I've seen about $10K. Where was the 19M spent. Someone got rich off this POS.
Other extras include an Alternate Opening that makes no sense whatsoever. Checking In: cast and crew interviews. A documentary about snuff films that was more interesting than the movie, and deleted scenes that center around the raccoon encounter.
I was not impressed. Everyone involved needs to give their money back.
History Channel - Lost Worlds - 2006
I have no idea how this series got into my queue, but all four discs are finally here, so here we go. And what is it? Pop archeology, with lots of computer graphics showing what ruins would have looked like. Okay, that sounds vaguely interesting, so I'll watch 'em.
Disc 1
Knights Templar (man, is this sensationalized! I thought the history channel was more stoic than this)
Jesus' Jerusalem
The First Christians - really the glories of Roman Epesus. Amazing achievements

Lost Worlds, con't.
Disc 2
Atlantis - interesting, but the sensationalism is irritating
Ramses' Egyptian Empire - amazing seventy year reign of a builder of monuments
Athens - Ancient supercity
Disc 3
Secret Cities of the A-Bomb - VERY interesting
Hitler's Supercity - huh, who would have thought
Churchill's Secret Bunkers

Disc 4
The Real Dracula
Braveheart's Scotland
The Pagans
Bonus: Pilot Episode Palenque - Metropolis of the Maya
An interesting series. Too bad there's no extras whatsoever.

Inland Empire - 2006
David Lynch's most recent movie. Stand by for mind F!
And it serves it up in heaping helpings. The closest thing I can do in describing this movie is that a movie actress gets thrown into alternate realities behind the sets of her recent movie. There seems to be some time travel too. Beyond that, I got nothing.
If you like Lynch, then you'll enjoy this movie. If you like MindF movies, then this will be a treat for you. Others may want to stay away, because these movies, although cool, make no damn sense whatsoever. It's just two hours of you saying "WTF?".

Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy
Zombie Bloodbath 1 - 1993
A Todd Sheets classic. Todd is, of course, the big independent film director from Kansas City. Ahh, the greatness of shot on Video zombie flicks. Look at all the sheep guts! Transfer looks good for SOV. This company (Camp Motion Pictures) also released last week's Video Violence. I really like this company. Lots of extras, good transfers, and fun stuff for the fan of the awful. I mean, to be fair, this movie is dumber than a box of hubcaps, but it's a gorehound's delight, and doesn't take itself too seriously.
There's a commentary with Todd Sheets and his son who was born during production (he's kinda young to be watching a movie like this, but hey, when that's what Dad does, I guess you see this stuff early). And there are extra comments cut in. You can tell by the difference in audio quality. We learn lots of interesting stuff about making no budget movies. He does mention that they used a wide variety of video formats, from S-VHS to D1. Cool.

Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy, Con't.
Zombie Bloodbath 2 - 1995
It's a gorefest within the first 10 minutes. For fans of the genre, that's all you need to know. It's longer, more gore, and fewer ridiculous elements (still a few, but not as many as part 1). Fun stuff all the way around.
Commentary by Todd (all by himself this time). He cops to the fact that it's cheap and rushed, but points out where he tried to do something "artsy". Budget so small, you "couldn't buy a crappy used car". "Feature movie on a 10-speed budget".
Other extras on Disc 1 include a Behind the scenes for each movie. Very nice.
