Skipping The Lazarus Syndrome – 1979
TV movie drama, I don’t think so

Prime Time – 1977
Aka American Raspberry. A cheap Groove Tube/Kentucky Fried Movie rip off, except its before KFM and same year as GT.

The Legend of Bigfoot – 1976
One man’s quest to uncover the truth.

The death of a squirrel – one of the most exploitive scenes I’ve EVER seen. Amazing.

Slave of the Cannibal God – 1978
This obviously is the grandchild of the two main cannibal movies; Cannibal Ferox (Make Them Die Slowly) and Cannibal Holocaust. At least it doesn’t have the violence against animals. And I would swear that she was naked at the end of the other version I’ve seen.

TNT Jackson – 1974
Ahhh, 70’s blaxploitation. How about that hair? And don’t you just love the fake Kung Fu? And how come there are so many blacks in Hong Kong? Ends rather abruptly too.

Women of Devil’s Island – 1962
American International costumer from Italy. Very damaged, with missing scenes that make this thing not make much sense. If you see it all, it would probably be pretty good.

And thus ends 50 Movie Drive In pack. Wow. That was tough. And I just got another collection as a gift. Not sure when I’ll have time to work thru it. Well, that’s the great thing about DVDs. They keep!

The Fountainhead – 1949
Gary Cooper
Patricia Neal
Almost a film noir feel to a movie that accurately depicts the book (which I think accurately depicts man today!). And it has subtitles! Not only is this a beautiful transfer, but there is also an excellent documentary about the making of the movie. Totally awesome DVD. Highest recommendation. Should be required viewing.

Machined – 2006
Hey, it’s Big Dave! Well, actually it’s David Hayes – but it sure looks like Big Dave to me (only friends and acquaintances will get the reference, but that’s okay).

Shot on video, obviously. But at least the DVD has subtitles. Pretty good with some novel elements, but the final 2 minutes make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Revenge of the Living Dead Girls – 1986
Zombies from drinking toxic milk. Only in France.

Nice boobage (not the zombies)!

Director is actually Pierre B Reinhard, known in France for sexy comedies. Eyyyyy, she bit his privates off. Sneaky devils.

Rated X, A Journey through Porn – 2000
Documentary about the Porn industry. Pretty interesting, with everybody being open and honest.

I find it interesting, but then, I like porn, so seeing the world behind it, that’s not all drugs and bondage as it’s often portrayed by the religious Right, makes me feel good too.

Extras include Deleted Scenes and Interviews. A fun watch.

Once Upon a Girl – 1976
Obviously the product of the 70’s, animation sucks, but it’s like a sexploitation film in animated form. No subs or commentary, Really great if you ever imagined an X-rated Smurfs. That’s the level of animation. And there’s plenty of cartoon sex. So if that’s your thing, then this is the disc for you.

Lifespan – 1974
You know you’re in trouble when the first 5 minutes are all narration. And what’s with all the shots of shoes? Is the director related to Doris Wishman?

Klaus Kinski! Yet it’s boring! I don’t understand why Mondo Macabro brought this out. It’s duller than dishwater. And in the commentary, the director admits he likes taking shots of shoes.

Slugs, The Movie – 1988
What is with the triumphant flourishes I the music? The soundtrack is just not appropriate. In fact, it is WILDLY inappropriate. Hysterical.

These are Africanized Killer Slugs, obviously. You gotta love the 80’s gore!

Holy Virgin vs Evil Dead – 1991
Hard coded subs, only Chinese language soundtrack. I have wanted this movie for years, but am disappointed. Not nearly as gruesome as I’d like. Plenty of Kung Fu action, though.

42nd Street Forever, The Deuce – 2006
Trailers, trailers, trailers. A whole new slew to add to my wishlist. I have a spreadsheet I made of all the movies in this collection. Let me know if you want it.

Basketcase 3 – Progeny – 1992
Now, this is a collection of freaks! Subtitles, but no commentary, alas.

This movie made me laugh my ass off. In one scene, a freak/monster is giving birth of a whole slew of babies, who are all connected via a single umbilical cord. The person videotaping is screaming off this commentary, when he says
“They’re strung together like patio lights!”

I guess you had to be there.
