Zu Warriors – 2001
OMG! This may be the best Chinese movie I have ever seen. It is the very best fusion of eastern ideas with Western methodology/cinema. Awesome stuff. If you are not a fan of wirework, this is not for you. But if you like flying Kung-Fu, with Chinese magic mixed in by the ton, then this is the movie for you. Even if you don’t, watch it anyway. If you only see one Chinese movie, see this one. This is a more “actiony” than Crouching Tiger, but has the same great color and life. And the computer graphics are top notch.
There are two versions here. A shorter, English language version, and a longer Cantonese version with English subtitles. It’s funny to see the difference in the names of the characters. But I prefer the longer cut.
There is also a making of featurette, which was also subtitled.
