Night of Bloody Horror - 1969
It's bloody horrible, alright. Duller than dishwater, slower than a 5 year old waiting for Christmas, this one has almost nothing to recommend it, except some pretty laugh-inducing dialogue (gotta love it when the cops demand to know "are you a fag?". The writer did three whole projects in his career, all for the same director.
The music was obviously inspired by Forbidden Planet, and the plot was equally obviously lifted from Psycho. The highlight is watching Gerald McRaney (TV's Major Dad) grab his head as we are treated to some colorful spirals and freaky music.
No subs, darkdarkdark, with fair to poor audio. This is a seriuosly lowbudget disc for a seriously lowbudget movie.

Zombie Night - 2003
This is more like it. An obviously independent effort, without much in the way of a budget. But there's some interesting, original ideas here. I like the whole idea of a small community of people, many of which aren't warriors, trying to survive the zombie holocaust. It's just enough of new twist of the standard zombie fare to make me start rooting for the home team. Also, they have a "Dr. Smith" like bad guy in their midst that they can never quite bring themselves to deal with. A note to all you spineless, self agrandizing troublemakers out there. Should the zombie holocaust ever come, *I* will not hesitate to blow you away the first time you try and open the door/window. This is your only warning.
Anywho, the copy of Zombie Night I rented from Netflix had no extras on it, and I was kind of disappointed in that. But a quick trip to their website shows that have a NEW DVD with commentaries and such, so I've ordered that. Will put a footnote in when it arrives and I watch it.
Three out of five beers (plus a shot of Wild Turkey, 'cause its a Zombie movie)
