Thursday, Dec 22

Watched the rest of the extras on Serenity. Excellent. Extended scenes with and without commentary. Deleted scenes same. Funny outtakes, the "Intro by Joss" from the Comic Con viewing. Everything our little Browncoat-hearts desired. Once again I say; "Get this, or you're a lamer".

Five out of five beers.

Then I started back with the Lost in Space. MAN! Talk about culture shock. From the sublime to the ridiculous. Two things couldn't be further apart on the spectrum. I am starting to notice that the same props are used episode to episode to episode. I could have made a drinking game out of "Spot the reused prop". Campy AND cheap. Why did anyone love this show? And this was a successful TV series in the 60's. Were we really that unsophisticated back then? Its not been 40 years yet. Boy, do I feel old. Memory sure improves some things. I remember seeing this as reruns some time ago. Feels like it was in the 80's, but it might have been early 90's, and I still didn't notice what a crapfest this show was.

And I'll say this again, Jonathan Harris should have gotten multiple Academy Awards for playing Dr. Smith. The character is so disgusting, so despicable, so reprehensible, it would be EXTREMELY hard to play him.

Hopefully, I will finish them up tonight (Friday), and be able to move on to something more enjoyable. I finally got a couple of flicks from Netflix (a Something Weird Video release and The Brothers Grimm), so will be watching them over the Christmas holiday. I'll probably still blog, since I'm not as big a holiday fan as I am movie fan.
