Satanic – 2006
Two things made me rent this movie, and move it up to the top of my list; Angus Scrimm (The Tall Man from the Phantasm movies) and Jeffery Combs (Herbert West from the Re-animator Series). Two great actors teamed for the first time. Unfortunately, Jeff’s role is not very big (although he does a great job at it, portraying a cop and playing it straight). And it’s very odd to see Agnus Scrimm as a good guy. Very disconcerting to see him smile.
IMDB says that this movie only had a budget of $120K. Hell, I think they should pay Agnus and Jeffery that. But this is not a “effects” laden’d movie. It’s a “girl lost her memory, could she be a killer?” flick. Haven’t we had enough of them? And then, the finale’s big “surprise” won’t be one to anyone who’s ever seen any of these movies before. I called it a full 30 minutes before the end of the flick.
But, there’s some nice boobage, and that always recovers a beer bottle or two.
Alas, in the end, its still dull. For Combs and Scrimm fans only.
Three beers out of five (one for boobage, and one each for my favorite actors. The movie itself is a snoozer)
