The Devil's Filmmaker: Bohica - 2003

This is SUPPOSED to be a comedy, and it got sort of funny towards the end. However, unless you know a lot about independent movies, and the problems associated with making them, much of the humor here will be lost on you. I notice that there are no comments about this movie in IMDB Pro, which is unusual too.

No extras on the disc to speak of, and the movie is only 82 minutes long (longer than anything Charlie Band has put out recently), so the disc is pretty empty. I'm glad I only rented it. I enjoyed it, but then, I watch dozens of low budget movies a month, so I got it. Even getting it, though, its not THAT funny.

Inseminoid - 1981 - aka Horror Planet in IMDB

I remember seeing this movie at the theaters back when I was in the Navy. My memory is that this was a lot gorier and had more breasts showing than are in this DVD. I can't say whether my memory is faulty, or this is a cut down version. In the cold light of 2006, this movie appears to be the illegitimate offspring of Alien and Humanoids from the Deep. And its British (which makes me think that my memory may have embellished the flick over the years).

I can remember that I told folks that a woman is raped by an alien with a glass tube for a penis, and that his sperm looked like matza balls rolling down in some soup who's prime ingredient was the Reanimating fluid. My memory was spot on of that. And the woman who gets pregnant has a set of iron lungs, cause her scream while giving birth is incredible.

Overall, whoever, its just a bunch of folks running around a station, with a crazy woman killing them and then chowing down (with only a sprinkle of gore). A lot more boring than I remember.

No extras here either. Another good renter to fill the idle hours.
